2ND YEAR HERBALISM STUDIES HAS COMMENCED

This past weekend, I spent the day at Bloom Institute of Holistic Living and Learning continuing my studies in Herbal Medicine.
Before starting Traditional Chinese Medicine school at CCATCM, I dedicated 7 years of my working life sowing, growing, and caring for plants and, although I look forward to being a registered TCM Acupuncturist, the part of me dedicated to that 7 years is looking forward to sprouting once again.
CCATCM is now offering a Practitioner Diploma, but before further learning through this school, I believe it to be most important to understand the plants in our very own backyard. I also plan to be Certified and Registered as a Herbal Practitioner (along with a Doctorate in TCM) so you know I can be trusted with this information.
Our Earth Mother has gifted us with so many healing properties. Just think of it...all species (including us) are hardwired to survive and procreate, so each plant has adapted to survive in their environment. Every leaf, every root, and every branch is gathering information from the earth and placing it into their design. Learning their secrets, I believe, will enhance my evolving practice in a very positive way.
Not only that, the diagnostic depth of Traditional Chinese Medicine may assist in prescribing which plant is right for certain pathogens, and comparing native plants with those from across international waters may aid in unnecessary shipping costs.
This is always a plus, am I right? <3
It is almost time for me to set up for CCATCM Student Clinic, so I leave you with one photo I was able to get of that day, as I was way too happy to be near my phone. I also leave you with the reminder to please be sure herbal discussions with a trained professional are had while learning about plants, as quite a bit of research--especially online-- can be incorrect.
Thinking of all of you, as always, and with gratitude,
Heather Keddy-Vey
